Terms of Service

Welcome to PeopleServe, a local marketplace where people help people. By creating an account, signing in, or using PeopleServe in any way, you accept these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, please do not use the platform.

What PeopleServe is

PeopleServe is a venue. We connect customers who need help with independent local providers who offer it. PeopleServe is not a party to the work itself. We do not employ providers, we do not supervise jobs, and we do not guarantee any outcome of any job.

Your account

You sign in with your phone number. You agree to give accurate information and to keep your account to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

Acceptable use

Use PeopleServe honestly and lawfully. Do not misrepresent yourself, harass anyone, post false reviews, or use the platform for anything illegal. We may suspend or remove any account that breaks these rules or puts the community at risk.

Reviews and TrustScore

Reviews may only be left by signed-in customers, one review per provider. A provider's TrustScore is calculated from real reviews and jobs completed through PeopleServe. Fake or bought reviews are removed and can lead to removal from the platform.

Payments, cancellations, and disputes

Payment terms for a job are arranged between the customer and the provider unless a feature of the platform states otherwise. Booking fees or membership fees, where charged, are shown before you pay. If something goes wrong on a job, tell the other party first and try to resolve it. If you cannot, contact the PeopleServe team through the platform and we will review the situation. PeopleServe may mediate in good faith, but we do not insure jobs and we do not guarantee refunds for work performed by independent providers.

Changes and termination

We may update these terms as the platform grows. When we make a meaningful change, we will post the new version here with a new date. Using the platform after a change means you accept the updated terms. You may close your account at any time.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, PeopleServe's liability to you for any claim connected to the platform is limited to the amount you paid PeopleServe, if any, in the twelve months before the claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Louisiana, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account information: your phone number and, if you give it, your name.
• Trusted contact: if you add one, their name and phone number, used only for the safety features you trigger.
• Provider profiles: business details, service descriptions, photos, and any credentials a provider uploads. License and insurance documents are stored privately and are visible only to the PeopleServe team.
• Activity: job requests, reviews, favorites, and timestamps of jobs started and finished.
• Location: only when you use a safety feature that shares it, and only the location your device provides at that moment.

How we use it

To run the marketplace: connecting customers and providers, sending the text messages the platform needs to work (sign-in codes, job requests, approvals, safety alerts), showing reviews and TrustScores, and keeping the community safe.

What we share

When you request a provider, that provider gets your name and phone number so they can reach you. When you trigger a safety alert, your trusted contact and the PeopleServe safety team get your alert and location. We do not sell your personal information.

Your choices

You can update your name and trusted contact any time from your account. You can ask us to delete your account and its data by contacting the PeopleServe team.

Provider & Customer Marketplace Agreement

For providers

• You operate your own independent business. PeopleServe is a venue that helps customers find you.
• You are responsible for the services you provide, including their quality, safety, and completion.
• You are responsible for holding any license and insurance your work requires, where applicable, and for keeping them current.
• You agree to comply with all laws of your state and locality that govern your work.
• You accept the marketplace rules: honest profiles, honest communication, showing up when you commit, and treating customers with respect.

For customers

• You acknowledge PeopleServe's role: a platform that connects you with independent providers. Providers are not PeopleServe employees.
• Payment terms for a job are set between you and the provider unless the platform states otherwise. Any platform fees are shown before you pay them.
• Cancellations should be communicated as early as possible to the other party.
• Disputes go first between you and the provider. If you cannot resolve it, contact the PeopleServe team through the platform and we will review it in good faith.

Independent Provider Acknowledgement

By applying to be listed on PeopleServe, each provider confirms that they understand and agree to the following:

• I am an independent business, not an employee, agent, partner, or representative of PeopleServe.
• My relationship with PeopleServe is defined by the platform agreements and applicable law.
• I control how I perform my work, set my own prices unless a platform feature states otherwise, and may accept or decline any job.
• I am responsible for my own taxes, equipment, licenses, insurance, and compliance with the laws of my state.
• PeopleServe may remove my listing if I violate the platform agreements or put the community at risk.

Hold Harmless Agreement

To the fullest extent permitted by law, providers and customers each agree to hold harmless and release PeopleServe, its owner, and its team from claims, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or connected to:

• the services performed, or not performed, by any provider;
• any interaction between a customer and a provider, on or off the platform;
• property damage or personal injury occurring during a job;
• a provider's failure to hold a required license or insurance.

This does not limit any right that cannot be waived under applicable law, and it does not release PeopleServe from responsibilities the law places on the platform itself.

In-App Booking Notice

You are requesting an independent provider. Providers on PeopleServe run their own businesses and are not PeopleServe employees. Every listed provider was reviewed and approved before appearing here, and badges show what has been verified. Payment and scheduling are arranged between you and the provider. If anything goes wrong, contact the provider first, and reach the PeopleServe team through the platform if you need help.
